I do Attachment Parenting. Is this the same?
It's a form of attachment parenting, but has some big differences to Classical Attachment Parenting. In particular, Aware Parenting sees that babies not only cry to express immediate needs, they also cry to express feelings and release stress, tension and trauma, whilst being held in loving arms. And that unexpressed feelings accumulate and lead to tension which makes it harder for babies to feel calm enough to sleep restfully, feed calmly, and feel happy and relaxed.
I've read about Aware Parenting and agree with it except the idea that babies need to cry in arms. Will this course suit me?
The idea that babies have uncomfortable feelings to express to us, and that if unexpressed, they lead to things like avoiding eye contact, agitation, more frequent feeding, taking longer to go to sleep, waking more frequently - these are all things we will talk about a lot in the course. If you don't agree with the crying in arms part, you probably won't resonate with a lot of what we are sharing.
I love podcasts and love learning that way. Are there audios available?
Yes! Most of the material will be available in audio format for you to listen to!
I like watching videos. Will there be videos in the course?
Yes! There will be face-to-camera videos and slideshows for many parts of the course!
I enjoy reading material and making notes. Will there be written information too?
Yes! Most of the material will also be available in written format, including pdfs and Evernote notes!
